Doublespaced makes software for teachers.
Everything here is built on the same idea, which is that a teacher's records are the teacher's. There is no account to make, nothing of yours is kept on our computers, and it all works the same with the Wi-Fi off.
A gradebook for teachers of any grade, from kindergarten through twelfth.
Open the web app In your browser, with nothing to download and nothing to sign up for.
Students run down the side and assignments across the top, and everything else is worked out from what you type into it:
- Assignments and grades entered from the keyboard, with missing, excused and late
- Course grades by total points or by weighted categories, under rules you set
- Report cards with the course grade, each standard under it, and the grade you decide
- Standards on every assignment, and a grid you can filter down to one of them
- Rosters and marks brought over from Google Classroom, with Common Core and NGSS built in
- Trends for one student or the whole class
- Benchmarks, a behavior record and a contact log, switched on per class
- No account, and no server holding your class
- Works with the Wi-Fi off
- Every score in a file you own
It runs on Windows and macOS, and installs from the web on a Chromebook.
Greatbook is free. Keeping a copy in your own Google Drive costs $14.99, once, and that is the only thing you ever pay for.
Read about Greatbook, or install it.
Getting in touch
Greatbook's help page covers what goes wrong most often. Anything it does not, and anything you would like the software to do, is worth saying: support@doublespaced.app.
Paying for it
Greatbook is free and stays free, and the one thing it charges for is Google Drive backup.
If you would like to support the work beyond that, whether for Greatbook itself or for what Doublespaced builds next, there is a page about it.
